From innovation and tradition comes BlackNat®, a vegetable extract based exclusively on black rice, of Italian origin. BlackNat® promotes a sense of satiety, has a reduced calorie content and a lower sugar level than other types of rice and maltodextrin itself. The purplish-black color is due to the presence of anthocyanins, expressed as cyanidin 3-O-glucoside at a concentration of 1%. BlackNat® is an absolutely natural and healthy extract that recalls the scent of hazelnut and freshly baked bread.
In Italy it is cultivated only in Piedmont, Lombardy and Sardinia.
BlackNat® is an extract based only on black rice, from the botanical name Oryza sativa, belonging to the Poaceae family.
A type of brown rice with a low starch content able to guarantee a slow absorption of sugars, thus also increasing the sense of satiety. A property enhanced by the presence of a high content of dietary fiber, equal to 67.7%.
BlackNat® is rich in minerals such as iron, zinc, manganese, calcium and selenium. Its color is due to the presence of anthocyanins, pigments that give the black-purple color and the antioxidant function.

The Oryza sativa seed presents health claims recognized and admitted by the Ministry of Health (see Attachment 1-Botanicals of the Ministerial Decree of August 10, 2018), respectively for the control of gastric acidity with an emollient and soothing action on the digestive system. Black rice is considered a superfood thanks to its high nutritional content and the presence of anthocyanins.
